Sang Heon Lee is a South Korean actor with a multicultural background, who has made a remarkable debut in the Netflix series XO, Kitty, a spin-off of the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before films. Lee plays Min Ho, a charming and complex character who becomes involved with Kitty, the younger sister of Lara Jean Covey. Lee’s performance has captivated audiences worldwide, earning him millions of fans and followers in a matter of days.

From Seoul to Hong Kong to England

Lee was born in Seoul on May 21, 1996, but moved to Hong Kong with his family when he was young. He attended an international school there, where he developed an interest in drama and acting. He later pursued a degree in Drama at the University of Northampton in England, where he honed his skills and passion for the craft. After graduating, he returned to South Korea to complete his mandatory military service, and then embarked on a modeling career.

Lee’s multicultural background has given him a unique perspective and identity, as well as fluency in English and Korean. He has also experienced the challenges and joys of living in different countries and cultures, which he draws upon for his roles.

    A Star is Born

Lee’s big break came when he auditioned for XO, Kitty, which was his first major acting role. He was encouraged by his sister, Gia Kim, who is also an actress and plays Yuri Han in the same series. The siblings share a close bond and support each other’s careers.

Lee impressed the casting directors with his charisma and talent, and landed the role of Min Ho, a wealthy and handsome student who attends the same school as Kitty in Seoul. Min Ho initially clashes with Kitty, but gradually develops feelings for her, creating a love triangle with her long-distance boyfriend.

Lee has expressed his gratitude and excitement for being part of XO, Kitty, which he considers a dream come true. He has also shared his appreciation for the diversity and representation that the series offers, especially for Asian actors and stories.

    More to Come

Lee’s career is just getting started, as he has already secured another role in a film called Gran Turismo, which is based on the life of professional race car driver Jann Mardenborough. Lee will star alongside David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, and Archie Madekwe in the biographical sports drama, which was released on July 30, 2023 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, and on August 25, 2023 in the United States.

Lee has also revealed his interest in exploring various genres and roles in the future, such as noir, action, comedy, and romance. He has also expressed his desire to work with other actors and directors that he admires, such as Park Seo-joon, Bong Joon-ho, Tom Hardy, and Christopher Nolan.

Lee is not only an actor, but also a rock climber, a cook, and a foodie. He has a separate Instagram account dedicated to his climbing adventures, where he showcases his skills and passion for the sport. He also enjoys cooking Western cuisine, which he learned from watching Gordon Ramsay’s TV shows. He loves trying new foods and dishes from different cultures.

    Conclusion
