Kenzie Cait’s Thank God is a sonic middle finger to mediocre exes everywhere.

This track doesn’t just break up; it burns bridges with gleeful abandon.

Kenzie’s voice dances between smooth melodies and punchy phrases, delivering lyrics that cut deeper than your average pop fare.

She’s not here to mope; she’s here to celebrate dodging a bullet.

The production, courtesy of Andrew Pacheco, wraps Kenzie’s vocals in a cocoon of synths and electronic beats.

It’s a dreamy soundscape with enough kick to fuel a night of post-breakup dancing.

There’s a retro soul vibe lurking beneath the modern sheen, especially in the chorus, where Kenzie really lets loose.

Lyrically, “Thank God” is a masterclass in turning tables. Kenzie takes aim at the ex’s arrested development (“same three friends from high school”), mommy issues (“Are you still calling your daddy”), and delusions of grandeur (“Babe, I learned you aren’t the sun”).

It’s vicious, but delivered with such infectious energy that you can’t help but root for her.

This isn’t just a breakup anthem; it’s a declaration of independence. Kenzie isn’t wallowing in what could have been.

She’s too busy revelling in what is—namely, her own fabulousness.

The repeated “Thank God I’m not the one” isn’t just catchy; it’s cathartic.

“Thank God” kicks off Cait’s sophomore EP, “good luck, goodbye” with a bang.

If the rest of the tracks maintain this level of raw honesty and musical punch, listeners are in for one hell of a healing journey.

Kenzie Cait’s upcoming headline tour and new merch line suggest she’s ready to spread this empowering message far and wide.

“Thank God” is a refreshing reminder that sometimes the best revenge is living well and having a killer soundtrack to go with it.

    Kenzie Cait thank god Lyrics

    Verse 1
They used to hang ’round that old bar
With the same three friends from high school
They used to drive in your mom’s car
Does she know that you turned out, you turned out so cruel?
Sometimes I look at your pictures
But not because I’m still in love
I see you holdin’ that liquor, mm
What a pity, what a damn shame that I didn’t end up with that man’s last name

    Pre-Chorus
I used to want that so bad, mm
Now I look back and I laugh

    Chorus
Thank God that I didn’t do it for you
Fuck your shitty songs and your cheap suits
Hate that we sleep under the same moon
And thank God that you left me alone when you did
‘Cause I’m hotter, baby, I’m the shit
Babe, I learned you aren’t the sun
Thank God I’m not the onе

    Verse 2
Are you still calling your daddy
So he can say you’re an angеl
I don’t think you’ll ever be happy, no
‘Cause you’re miserable and sad, bunch of bodies that you gotta hide
    Baby, tell me why

    Pre-Chorus
I used to want that so bad, mm
Now I look back and I laugh

    Chorus
Thank God that I didn’t do it for you
Fuck your shitty songs and your cheap suits
Hate that we sleep under the same moon
And thank God that you left me alone when you did
‘Cause I’m hotter, baby, I’m the shit
Babe, I learned you aren’t the sun
Thank God I’m not the one

    Bridge
(Thank God I’m not the one)
(Thank God I’m not the one)

    Chorus
Thank God that I didn’t do it for you
Fuck your shitty songs and your cheap suits
Hate that we sleep under the same moon
And thank God that you left me alone when you did
‘Cause I’m hotter, baby, I’m the shit
Babe, I learned you aren’t the sun
Thank God I’m not the one
