New York rising artist Chaz Marcus delivers Green Heart, Midnight Slime, a track born from an encounter with a Canadian model who showed her true colours.

Built on what Marcus calls a “sexy drill-type beat,” the song’s dark yet seductive production emphasises his message about not mistaking kindness for weakness.

The title carries dual meaning – green, his favourite colour, ironically connects to the “bad apple” who inspired the track, while “midnight slime” represents the lineup of women ready to replace anyone taking him for granted.

Through pointed lyrics like “Can’t f*ck with no hoe that be lying / No, I got too much pride,” Marcus addresses the situation head-on.

He approached this beat style as “going to the gym,” using it to exercise his diversity as an artist rather than follow trends.

His delivery alternates between melodic hooks “Call me on the phone to see where I’m now” and direct verses, telling his story while warning potential partners about respect.

As Marcus describes himself, he’s “like a book of poems” – each track tells its own story, but his distinct voice guides the way through his experiences.

Stream Green Heart, Midnight Slime now on all major platforms and witness a New York artist crafting his own lane in the game.

Chaz Marcus Green Heart, Midnight Slime Lyrics
