Amanda Cy’s third single Ride infuses her forthcoming LOVEGRUNGE EP with a sunlit departure from her grittier soundscapes.

This shimmering track, conceived waterside, floats on reverbed guitars and a velveteen bassline while electronic flourishes create a retro-futuristic dreamscape.

Under the track’s laid-back vibe, there’s real emotional uncertainty as Cy explores relationship doubts with raw honesty.

“It seems dreamy on the surface, but the lyrics are desperate and worried. Exactly like me!” she confesses.

The SZA, Steve Lacy and Chiild influenced composition presents a fascinating juxtaposition with the melody that suggests carefree drift against lyrics questioning commitment: “Before I’m all about you/Baby say that you’re down for the ride.”

Cy’s collaborator Tom Cotton created the visualiser featuring a unique heart emblem inspired by iconic car badges, extending the LOVEGRUNGE aesthetic universe.

This prismatic addition to Cy’s catalog showcases her versatility, allowing listeners to experience warmth and trepidation simultaneously.

It’s a crystalline moment of alt pop paradox, where sunshine and shadows coexist in a delicate balance.

    Amanda Cy Ride Lyrics

    Wait
I know what you’re bout to say, yeah Hit the breaks
You sure you got what it takes? (Huh)

When you’re telling me you don’t mind, all the lows, all the highs It’s gonna come back to bite, cut too close, down the line Maybe I’ll waste my breath, pay my dues, then you’ll jet Gotta bolt, gotta roll, gotta go

    Ooooh
I hope you know what you do When you’re nothing but mine Oooh
    Before I’m all about you
Baby say that you’re down for the ride Say that you’re down for the ride

Before my time is wasted Before you slide
Show your cards, just say it You in or out?
I never been the one for danger I, never been no chaser
We could make it, stay by my side

What if I waste my breath, pay my dues, then you’ll jet Gotta bolt, gotta roll, gotta go

    Ooooh
I hope you know what you do (Hope you know what you do) When you’re nothing but mine Oooh
Before I’m all about you (Before I’m all about you)
Baby say that you’re down for the ride Say that you’re down for the ride Baby say that you’re down for the ride Say that you’re down
