Dubai-based neo-soul artist Dana Naidu steps into the spotlight with her debut single Sometimes, an intimate slow-burner that draws from alternative R&B and classic soul influences.

Against a laidback backdrop of warm basslines and silky keys, Dana’s vocals glide in a way that feels effortless but striking.

“On the surface, it’s a story about the moment I realised I had feelings for someone. But as I worked through it, something shifted,” she shares. “It became a reflection of me finding my sound.”

The production mirrors this vulnerability, keeping it simple but textured enough to let the emotions breathe.

Lines like “Sometimes I write words ’bout you when I should be making my bed” capture a tender realness, while the gentle sway of the instrumentation keeps the atmosphere rich but unhurried.

Sometimes feels like a love note not just to someone else, but to herself — a soft reclamation of emotion, identity, and artistic voice.

It’s a strong, soulful introduction to Dana’s world, and a promise of even more layered storytelling to come.

    Dana Naidu Sometimes Lyrics

    Corner stage
    I spilt my drink
    Sticky gin n tonic
    We were waved
    Couldn’t hear a thing
Caught myself staring at your lips

Im thinking bout the way i met
    Hearts grew closer, overnight, i-i
I fell in love with your smile

Reminiscing bout the time we locked eyes
    Pulled me closer
    Say the word and i-i
    Im yours

Been too scared to open up my heart again
    But you make it easy
    Saving me from this misery
I don’t wanna lose myself this time around
    Don’t let me down
    I’ll give you my all

    Ooo

    Thinkin’ bout you lately and
Singin’ bout the way your lips feel on my skin
    It’s undeniable the truth is
Your wylin’ makes me wanna confess things
    Like
    Deep desires
    My bedroom eyes
    I undress you with them
    Fantasize, i
    Set aside my
    Inhibitions
I don’t mind leaving everythin’ behind

Cause i want it to be you
    You
Yeah, i want it to be you
    You

Sometimes i write words bout you when i should be making my bed
But i kinda like it a mess
So i leave it like that instead
I try to think about you as many times as i can
    So that i don’t forget
How you look in my head

    Ooo
    Ooo
Yeah i want it to be you
    You oh
    You oh
    You
