Tyla’s Is It doesn’t bother with subtlety. It rides that line between confession and provocation, dripping with the same come hither energy that pushed Water into a global moment.

But here the undercurrent is messier. The opening lines, “Is it the fucks that I don’t give? Is it the men that I don’t miss?,” set up a narrator who knows exactly what she’s doing when she walks into a room.

She pokes at every reason someone might be drawn to her, then twists it with a hook that circles around that forbidden question: is it wrong that I wanna get right with you?

The whole track feels like her love letter to the dancefloor. The production, built by Sammy Soso and Ari PenSmith, hits that sweet spot between Amapiano’s open spaces and a clipped dancehall swing.

It’s sparse but sticky. The drum and bass kick has already got Reddit fans calling it nasty in the best way.

The outro slides in lighter Afrobeats and pop textures that keep her sound on the edge of genre tags without losing the South African backbone she has staked her name on.

It knows exactly how to play with tension. Each chorus loops “I can’t leave, I can’t leave…” like an internal voice stuck at the edge of the club.

The push and pull, am I staying, am I leaving, am I letting you in, sits inside that hook that never resolves.

She teased this on Instagram first, the same week the video dropped, so the anticipation did plenty of work before anyone hit play.

The visuals, directed by Aerin Moreno, handle the rest. The choreography stays intimate but doesn’t stay there.

Fans on popheads have picked up on how the Bacardi steps tie back to her Amapiano roots, giving it an extra layer of hometown context even while she is aiming for bigger charts.

Lines like “Is it the way this dress unzips? Is it the girls that I came with?” get at the real tension.

She knows exactly what people see, what they assume, what they project onto her.

It is a moment of owning the gaze and flipping it. And she is twenty three, doing it at a stage when so many artists still play it safe.

That makes it more satisfying when she shrugs it off and leans right into the big pop moment anyway.

Numbers-wise, the momentum is there. Bliss cracked the top fifteen on Hot R&B Songs and early chatter suggests Is It, which dropped on July 11, 2025, could push further once the video’s dance challenge catches on.

Some fans joke the whole thing feels built for TikTok loops, but they are still playing it in the car. Sometimes that contradiction is exactly the point.

This is what keeps her ahead. The knack for slipping raw want into glossy pop, giving just enough space to wonder whether it is about a fling, an ego trip, or just a reason to stay out all night.

The hook lands either way. She does not bother wrapping it up. The question hangs there, still buzzing, and that is enough.

    Tyla Is It Lyrics

    Verse 1
Is it the fucks that I don’t give?
Is it the men that I don’t miss?
Is this song why we get along?
Or am I coming on a little strong?
Is it the way this dress unzips?
Is it the girls that I came with?
‘Cause the more that you tell me “Don’t”
It’s the more that you turn me on

    Pre-Chorus
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Leave you alone with your eyes on me, no
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Dancing alone don’t look right on me, yeah
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Leave you alonе with your eyes on me, no
    I can’t lеave, I can’t leave
Dancing alone don’t look right on me, yeah

    Chorus
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right with you?
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right?

    Verse 2
Is it the cup when it leaves my lips?
That got me thinking things like this (Like)
Like what it’s like when you take me home
And what it’s like when you take it off
Is it the idea that I like?
Or do I really wanna make you mine?
Or do we leave it all on the floor?
Either way I need a little more

    Pre-Chorus
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Leave you alone with your eyes on me, no
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Dancing alone don’t look right on me, yeah (On me)
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Leave you alone with your eyes on me, no (Yeah)
    I can’t leave, I can’t leave
Dancing alone don’t look right on me, yeah

    Chorus
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right with you?
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right with you?

    Bridge
    Leave, I, I can’t leave, no
    Leave, I, I, leave, no

    Chorus
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right with you?
Is it wrong that I wanna get right
    Wanna get right with you?
