David Kushner’s Heavens Sirens is a 2025 ballad about inner struggle, survival, and the quiet pull of faith.

It’s not written like a comeback single. It sounds like something he had to release before it weighed him down further.

It came out on August 1, 2025 and marks his first music since he stepped away from his UK and European tour earlier in the year for mental health reasons.

The song opens with an unfiltered confession: “So many things I’d like to say / So many parts of me I hate.”

Rick Nowels co-wrote the track with Kushner and keeps the production minimal so those words have room to breathe.

A steady pulse runs beneath the track, joined by soft strings, muted piano chords and ambient textures that drift in and out like smoke.

There are no heavy drum drops or forced climaxes. Instead, the sound slowly builds in atmosphere, with faint siren-like tones swirling in the background, pulling the listener deeper into its mood.

Unlike the sweeping, sometimes mythic stylings of Daylight or Mr. Forgettable, this new single feels painfully present.

Kushner doesn’t paint a biblical scene; he pleads in one. His voice has the weight of a cathedral filled with reverb and ache, and here he leans fully into that imagery.

You can describe it as sounding like he’s singing from the edge of a cliff, with nothing but faith on the other side.

Listeners drawn to uncovering the Heavens Sirens meaning say the song changes with each listen; sometimes it feels like a confession, other times like a prayer.

One comment on YouTube called it “a voice that feels like it’s praying for you.”

Another said it “hits harder than a breakup song because it’s not about losing someone else, it’s about losing yourself.”

These reactions match the song’s ability to move between spiritual imagery and personal crisis without ever spelling out which is which.

The chorus repeats like a cycle you can’t break: “Why can’t I stop this bleeding? / My soul crawls to better days.”

The ache in his baritone does most of the explaining. The Heavens Sirens lyrics meaning feel ambiguous, and perhaps that’s why it stays with you.

In the bridge, he sings, “I’m barely surviving / And I know you are too.”

For many listeners, that line shapes how they hear the Heavens Sirens lyrics, giving the whole track a raw, unguarded centre.

It is plain but disarming, closing the distance between singer and listener.

The title hints at tension. Sirens can warn or lure, and in this track they might be doing both.

Lines about “a voice that talks against the truth” and “a noise that interferes the groove” suggest that not every call is worth answering.

Maybe the Heavens Sirens meaning is that some signals aren’t sent to save you, but to remind you you’re not alone in waiting.

    David Kushner Heavens Sirens Lyrics

    Verse 1
So many things I’d like to say
So many tears I wanna drain
So many things that never changed
So many parts of me I hate

    Pre-Chorus
But that’s what I get for running out of time (Woah)
And I never found the words that made me cry

    Chorus
Wish I could shake this feeling
My heart wants to run away
Why can’t I stop this bleeding?
My soul crawls to better days

    Post-Chorus
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

    Verse 2
There’s a voice that talks against the truth
There’s a noise that interferes the groove
Oh, God, destroy the bitter fruit
I’m really sick of all the self-abuse

    Pre-Chorus
That’s what I get for running out of time
I never found the words that made me cry

    Chorus
Wish I could shake this feeling
My heart wants to run away
Why can’t I stop this bleeding?
My soul crawls to better days

    Post-Chorus
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)

    Bridge
    I’m barely surviving
And I know you are too
    The world’s getting violent
    Are Heaven’s sirens sounding soon?

    Outro
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
    (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
We’re barely surviving (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
And I know you are too
The world’s getting violent (Ooh, ooh, ooh)
    Are Heaven’s sirens sounding soon?
