Lady Gaga & Mark RonsonWe’re already deep into awards season. You may have noticed a bevy of invites to friends’ parties where everyone gathers in a luxury condo and watches TV to see who won and who lost. This time of year is full of glitz and glamor as celebs from Hollywood to the music industry strut the red carpet and wait for their names to be called from the stage.

Since 1959, The Grammys have been a significant part of the award season. This is music’s biggest night when singers, songwriters, and musicians gather to celebrate the best of the best.

Music industry folk sure do know how to throw a party. Yes, there are the requisite awards and speeches. But the big events are the performances — the 2019 Grammys had some of the most thrilling in recent years. From legends to newcomers, the show lit up the Staples Center stage and excited millions around the world watching on TV. It was pure music magic as Michelle Obama helped open the show with Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith along with Alicia Keys who hosted what some said was the best Grammy Awards show in a decade.

In case you missed it, or want to relive it, here is our round-up of the greatest performances from the Grammy Awards 2019:

    1. Diana Ross
Diana “The Boss” Ross took to the stage to celebrate her 75th birthday. In those 75 years, she’s experienced the breadth of modern pop music from girl group to bonafide superstar reaching legendary status. On Grammy night, this luminary diva belted out two popular songs “The Best Years of My Life” and her classic concert hit “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand).” But one star outshined Ms. Ross that evening—her grandson 9-year-old Raif-Henok Emmanuel who showed that stage presence runs in the family. While introducing his grandmother, the sure-to-be star joked and had the audience in the palm of his hands. Some even said he stole the entire show.

    2. Tribute to Motown
It was all old-school showbiz when Jennifer Lopez and Ne-Yo partnered for a rousing tribute to Motown classics. Lopez showed what a consummate performer she is with a showstopping set that included “Dancing Machine,” “Dancing in the Street,” and “Please Mr. Postman.” Even host Alicia Keys joined in, along with Smokey Robinson.

    3. Dolly Parton
It takes a lot of star power to pay homage to one of the most prominent musicians of all time—Dolly Parton. And that’s precisely what happened when Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Maren Morris, and Little Big Town performed together with Dolly herself in a get-up-and-cheer rendition of Parton’s classic “9 to 5.”

    4. Lady Gaga
Oscar nominee, Grammy winner, and world’s biggest music superstar are just some ways to describe Lady Gaga. But the only way to really describe her is: supremely talented. And the proof is in her hard-rock version of her smash hit “Shallow” from the film “A Star is Born” with producer Mark Ronson.

    5. Cardi B
Rap sensation and Best Rap Album winner Cardi B was show-stopping from the red carpet where she wore a stunning Thierry Mugler gown to her wild and exciting performance of “Money” where she twerked on a crystal-encrusted piano amid an Art Deco-inspired set.
