Madisyn Gifford has just released her new single 21 alongside a beautiful video she filmed during the time she spent living in Oahu. If you have been craving summer sun after the pandemic, these visuals will inspire you to hop on a plane as fast as you can.

The music video shows Madisyn’s experiences of living there, sharing footage of her with friends and discovering stunning sights. The track is a nostalgic display of memories that created one of the most influential years of the singer’s adult life so far.

On the single Madisyn shares, “21 has been my lucky number for as long as I can remember and because of that, my entire life I have always placed really high expectations on what my 21st year was going to be like. I wrote this song with Jared Manierka at a time when I was feeling really frustrated because I had not been having a year even close to the 21 that I had always imagined due to COVID and some other life circumstances I was dealing with. This was one of those magical songs where after I wrote it, I was able to look at the issues I was having more clearly and luckily the second half of my 21st year was nothing short of magical. I’m so proud of this track and I think that it is going to be so much fun to perform and scream along in the car to. I hope people enjoy dancing around their kitchen to it as much as I do!”

21 following single Dancing On This Line which was released earlier this year in support of BPD awareness month. The song shares real-world experiences of living with Borderline Personality Disorder and reminds the listener of the importance of conversations about mental health.

Madisyn Gifford is already taking the social media and streaming platform world by storm by accumulating 1.2M YouTube views and 550k streams since her debut release Without You in 2020. For an artist who is so young, Gifford is already writing extremely relatable music to accompany the years where we grow the most and are still trying to figure out who we are. She sings “Let’s find a s***** apartment and eat dinner off the floor” as many of us do in these key years. Although Gifford is a young singer, she is writing very blended music and is creating her own sound, telling beautiful stories and sharing extremely personal experiences through her work. She dropped her debut EP, Learning to Exist, via 604 Records in the spring of 2021 and then followed up with LP, I hate ur guts, less than a year later.

We are looking forward to what else Madisyn Gifford will be releasing soon. However, for now, we can enjoy the dreamy music video for 21.
