Freya RidingsEmerging star Freya Ridings is the name on everybody’s lips especially since the release of her single ‘Lost Without You’. No, this is not a Robin Thicke cover but a classic in its own right. Played on the ‘Love Island’ soundtrack as well as all over the radio this past summer the track has been an instant hit. Now Kia Love and Vertue have remixed the song taking it from a haunting ballad to a club banger giving you the best of both worlds.

The music video of the original song is exactly what you would expect it to be. With simplistic shots and a lot of close-ups of Freya, she solemnly performs her song with her hair dancing effortlessly in the wind staring deeply into the camera. Both song and video put you in the zone of contemplation where you are able to consider life more deeply.

The remix is able to successfully keep the eerie vocals and layer it on top of a dance beat allowing it to be appreciated by a larger audience. The remix isn’t overly produced, and Freya’s vocals take centre stage with the simplistic one-two beat accompanying it. The song followed Freya’s voice and was overall consistent and every break in the song was timed perfectly showcasing the lyrics and her soulful voice. The remix doesn’t sound like a whole new track, it sounds like an extension of what was originally put out. Kia Love and Vertue’s creative execution doesn’t take away from the impact of Freya’s song, in fact, it holds the same sentiments of love and longing but simply switching up the music genre.

Freya Ridings is currently on her world tour with many shows sold out. She will be in London on October 18th and you can see the rest of her tour dates below. The Kia Love x Vertue mix will expand her fan base giving her further exposure and open her up to a new audience.
