Released on 5 July 2024, In It With You pairs two R&B vocalists whose paths should have crossed sooner.

Craig David spoke earlier about collaborating with JoJo and made it clear this wasn’t just a label pairing.

He described their working relationship with a kind of genuine excitement that rarely sounds scripted.

That same energy runs through In It With You, capturing a feeling rooted in something steady and recognisable.

David and JoJo co-wrote the track with Mike Brainchild, who also produced it.

In It With You appears as Track 2 on David’s upcoming album Commitment, scheduled for release on 8 August.

There’s no need for flourish here. The track circles around the idea of recommitment, not sparked by a dramatic change but shaped by the quiet decision to stay.

The production is stripped back, sitting in a midtempo groove that gives the vocals room to speak clearly.

David opens with lines about cycling through the same conversations and old apologies. It’s not bitter. It’s resigned, maybe even familiar.

JoJo’s verse doesn’t shift the tone so much as deepen it. Her phrasing on “Baby, baby, love don’t get old, I feel the same thing, same me” lands gently, but there’s weight behind it.

Her delivery doesn’t try to outshine, rather it meets the song where it’s already resting.

The chorus leans into one repeating phrase: “As long as I’m in it with you.”

It doesn’t build, it doesn’t stretch. It just holds its shape.

This isn’t about recovery or grand declarations. It’s about recognising what stayed intact even when everything else wobbled.

The video, directed by MFB, was filmed across familiar London locations. It avoids theatrics.

There are no flashbacks, no dramatic setups. Just two people navigating the same spaces, sometimes apart, eventually side by side.

The tone stays calm, almost observational. It’s a love story that doesn’t need to explain itself.

Listeners on YouTube called it “relatable in a way that hurts a little.”

One fan compared the video to “watching a couple that’s too tired to fight but too close to leave.”

Over on Reddit, a few picked up on how JoJo’s section doesn’t create contrast but continues the same emotional thread.

The harmony works not because their styles are opposites, but because they settle into the same emotional space.

The song doesn’t chase heartbreak or euphoria. It stays in a quieter place that speaks more to continuity than climax.

There are no explosive bridges or final flourishes. Just a sense that sometimes the biggest gesture is staying in the room.

Whether this becomes a one-off or opens the door to more, In It With You avoids the usual expectations of a high-profile duet.

It has no interest in proving anything. It’s content with being understood.

The question is whether that kind of clarity still finds the space it deserves.
