Mabel is back, and she’s not playing around. Today marks the release of her latest single, ‘Stupid Dumb,’ featuring none other than Ty Dolla $ign.

The track, out via Polydor Records, is a hypnotic R&B jam that sees these two powerhouses serving up a heavy dose of smoothness with an unfiltered twist.

    Recorded in LA, Vibes Intact

‘It’s giving late-night in Los Angeles.’ That’s the immediate vibe of ‘Stupid Dumb’—it’s sultry, it’s carefree, and it’s got that something that makes you want to drop everything and just lose yourself in it.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Tommy Brown, the single captures the thrill of risking it all for love, with Mabel’s vocals crooning through dreamy melodies while Ty adds his signature silk. Let’s just say the chemistry is palpable.

    Mabel Says It Straight

“Stupid Dumb is about when you’re literally losing it over someone,” Mabel shared.

“I wanted to capture that euphoric feeling you get when they’re all you can think about.”

She also dished about collaborating with Ty, who she’s been a fan of for a long time.

It was one of her favourite recording sessions ever. Iconic behaviour only.

The Track Continues an R&B Resurgence

Mabel’s clearly embracing her R&B side this year. Following her earlier release, ‘Vitamins,’ she’s been on a roll with fresh music, including the sensual ‘Chat’ and bangers like ‘Look At My Body Pt.II’ featuring Shygirl.

ELLE recognised ‘Female Intuition’ as the top summer anthem. 2024 has seen a seriously re-energised Mabel, and she’s only picking up momentum.

Fashion Week, Festivals, and Fan Moments

And it’s not just the music that’s got people talking. Mabel turned heads this season at Fashion Week, performing at ETAM’s Live Show 2024 in Paris, and being a staple at the hottest events — Jawara Alleyne, Acne Studios, British Vogue x Rabanne, you name it.

Earlier this year, she gave the crowd at Notting Hill Carnival a little extra flavour by debuting ‘Chat,’ and she’s been all over the festival circuit, gracing stages from BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend to Primavera Sound.

    Behind-the-Scenes Magic

To top it off, Mabel dropped a behind-the-scenes visual for ‘Stupid Dumb,’ letting fans see how it all came together.

The visuals are intimate, showcasing her and Ty in their element, vibing, laughing, and making music that hits just right.

    What’s Next?

Who knows, maybe the next stop is a full-blown R&B project. Or maybe Mabel’s next release will take us somewhere completely different.

Either way, she’s on a hot streak, and ‘Stupid Dumb‘ is proof she’s not slowing down. The UK’s brightest star is shining, and we’re here for every note.
