Quevedo’s Early Life and Beginnings in Music

Quevedo was born in Madrid on December 7, 2001. His full name is Pedro Luis Domínguez Quevedo. When he was one year old, he moved to Brazil with his family. Quevedo returned to Spain at five years old and settled in Las Palmas, the Canary Islands, where he grew up and developed an interest in freestyle rap and music inspired by artists such as Delaossa y Suite M.

Quevedo started freestyling with his friends after soccer practice and later uploaded some videos on YouTube and Instagram. He also participated in local events and battles organised by HH Canarias, a freestyle rap organisation.

In 2020, he launched his music career with the help of music producer Linton, who discovered him on social media and invited him to record some songs with him. He released his first single, No Me Digas Nada, in 2020, which reached number 13 on the Spanish charts and earned him a platinum certification by PROMUSICAE.

Quevedo’s Breakthrough and Success with Bizarrap

Quevedo’s career took off in 2022 when he released his most successful single, Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 52, with Argentine producer Bizarrap. The song features his freestyle skills and catchy hooks over a Latin trap and reggaeton beat, which became a viral hit on YouTube and Spotify. It was viewed more than 10 million times within the first 24 hours of its release and reached the number-one spot on Spotify Global Top 200 chart, making Quevedo the first Spanish artist to achieve this feat.

The song also topped the charts in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It entered the top 10 in Colombia and Mexico. The song earned Quevedo a platinum certification by PROMUSICAE and a nomination for Best Urban Song at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. The song also boosted his popularity on social media, where he gained millions of followers and fans from around the world. Quevedo credits Bizarrap for changing his fate and allowing him to collaborate with him after Bizarrap contacted him via Instagram, inviting him to record a session while he was in Argentina working on another song with Duki. He describes the recording session as “super normal”, and points out that he had a lot of fun working with Bizarrap.

Quevedo’s Debut Album and Future Projects

In January 2023, Quevedo released his debut studio album titled Donde Quiero Estar (Where I Want to Be) through his label, Taste the Floor. The album features 16 tracks and includes collaborations with Myke Towers, Omar Montes, Ovy on the Drums, JC Reyez, and a spoken introduction by Cruz Cafuné.

On the album, Quevedo explores genres and themes such as reggaeton, Latin trap, pop, love, party, and nostalgia. The album was a commercial success, debuting at number one and spending eight weeks atop the chart in Spain.

It also charted in Italy, Switzerland, and the US Latin Albums chart. The album received a double platinum certification by PROMUSICAE and positive reviews from critics. Quevedo says he is very proud of his album and wanted to express how he has searched to find where he wants to be in life and music.

He also reveals that one of his favourite songs on the album is Yankee, a tribute to Puerto Rican reggaeton legend Daddy Yankee.

    Quevedo’s Personal Life and Influences

Quevedo keeps his personal life private, so there is hardly any information about his family and close friends. He has revealed that he has a girlfriend but has not disclosed her name. Other than that, being very happy with her and that she supports him in his career. Quevedo also says he is very close to his parents and brother, who have always encouraged him to pursue his passion for music.

Quevedo has a tattoo of a lion on his chest, which represents the zodiac sign of Leo. He also has a tattoo of a rose on his arm, which he says is a tribute to his grandmother. Quevedo cites Daddy Yankee as his biggest influence and idol in music. He says he grew up listening to his songs and admires his style and charisma. He mentions other artists such as Delaossa y Suite M, Cruz Cafuné, Bejo, Rei, Abhir Hathi, and El Ima as his inspirations and friends in the industry.

    Conclusion

Quevedo is a Spanish rapper and singer who has conquered the world with his freestyle skills and catchy songs. He has achieved four number-one songs in Spain and collaborated with artists such as Bizarrap, Ed Sheeran, Duki, and De La Ghetto.

He has also released his debut studio album, Donde Quiero Estar, which showcases his versatility and creativity. He is one of the most promising and talented artists in the Latin music scene and has a bright future ahead of him. Quevedo is more than just a rapper; he is a phenomenon.
