I’ve never played a song to dwell on the murky depths of addiction. I’ve never hit repeat because I wanted to sit with the quiet chaos of self-doubt.

But music often has a way of pulling you into spaces you’d rather avoid, and that’s exactly where MOTHICA‘s Another High takes you—right into the heart of those battles we fight with ourselves.

Another High plunges you into the cyclical nature of our worst habits.

The bassline is heavy, almost oppressive, but it’s the kind of weight you carry willingly because it’s familiar.

MOTHICA’s voice cuts through the darkness with a clarity that’s as much a cry for help as it is a resignation to the inevitable.

She candidly shares, “When I stop one habit, I find new vices to indulge in to keep my mind busy. Some are definitely healthier than others. And I always joke that I wish I was addicted to exercising and sunshine instead of the things that are bad for me.”

This track stays with you—not because it’s easy listening, but because it’s so damn relatable.

MOTHICA sings about looking for that next high, that next escape, all while knowing it’s just another way to pass the time until the cycle begins again.

The chorus is almost deceptively catchy—the kind of hook that lodges in your brain and won’t let go, even as the lyrics remind you of the darker undercurrents driving it.

Deep basslines and distorted guitars clash with lighter synths, creating a tension that mirrors the song’s themes.

There’s a buildup in the pre-chorus, a kind of quiet anticipation that leads to an explosion of sound in the chorus, only to drop you back into the murky depths of the post-chorus.

It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, but one that feels true to the experience MOTHICA is sharing.

Listening to Another High feels like wrestling with your own demons.

There’s a familiarity to it, a recognition that you’re not alone in the struggle.

MOTHICA’s delivery is raw and honest, the kind of performance that hits you because it’s not just about her—it’s about anyone who’s ever looked for a way out, only to find themselves deeper in.

Another High is part of MOTHICA’s highly anticipated third album, Kissing Death.

This album delves even deeper into her personal battles with depression, addiction, and the search for something—anything—that can bring relief.

It’s dark, it’s heavy, and it’s undeniably compelling.

    MOTHICA Another High Lyrics

    Intro
    (Hi-high, hi-high)

    Verse 1
I swear I’m living purely out of spite
I do it just so I can say I tried
Fuck forgiveness, I want vengeance baby
Swear I’m gonna have you hypnotized
Ruin yours just like you ruined mine
    It’s my toxic masochistic daydream

    Pre-Chorus
The crush the feelings rushing back
I recreate the love I’ve lacked
And when it doesn’t work out do it all again

    Chorus
I’m just looking for another high
Just another way to waste my time
I’m just looking for another high
    Hi-high, hi-high
I’m just looking for a way back down
Something loud for me to drown the sound
A sweeter poison til I’m underground
    Hi-high, hi-high

    Verse 2
How do you do it? How to keep going?
It’s all consuming to live in the moment
How do you live when you don’t wanna die anymore?

    Pre-Chorus
The crush the feelings rushing back
I recreate the love I’ve lacked

And when it doesn’t work out do it all again

    Chorus
I’m just looking for another high
Just another way to waste my time
I’m just looking for another high
    Hi-high, hi-high
I’m just looking for a way back down
Something loud for me to drown the sound
A sweeter poison til I’m underground
    Hi-high, hi-high

    Bridge
    (Hi-high, hi-high, hi-high, hi-high)
I’m just looking for another high
    (Hi-high, hi-high, hi-high, hi-high)
I’m just looking for another high
    (Hi-high, hi-high, hi-high, hi-high)
    High

    Outro
I’m just looking for another high
Just another way to waste my time
I’m just looking for another high
    Hi-high, hi-high
