RAYE ‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!’ opens with a smirk and a clock ticking in the background. She is searching, yes, but the song flips the question into a dare, staking out standards rather than pleading for fate.

It arrives as the first taste of her second album, flagged for 2026 alongside a 40-date world tour announcement that starts in Europe in January.

Across three tight minutes, the record moves with quick footwork: punchy horns, clipped rhythm parts, and ad-libs that feel tossed off yet deliberate.

The production centres RAYE’s lead while stacking harmonies and call-backs that keep the hook circling. You have RAYE and Mike Sabath on production, the same pairing behind ‘Escapism,’ and other standouts.

The song’s meaning sits right on the surface. She wants the real thing, and she is done wasting time. Short lines do the job: a straight ask for commitment, a playful checklist, and a final turn that suggests the answer begins with her.

The lyrics are both cheeky and sincere, shifting from wish-list to self-possession by the last refrain.

RAYE teased the date on 31 August, then dropped the single and video on 19 September.

The video leans into glamour and pace. It opens in monochrome before moving into colour, letting styling and edits sell the chase while the brass lines punch through the chorus.

It plays like a quick chapter one: meet the brief, flash the grin, keep moving.

This is not a ballad pivot but a strut, and that matters for an artist coming off a huge debut cycle with festival headlines and major stages.

Tour news arrived in the same breath, with dates stretching from the UK and Europe to North America under the banner This Tour May Contain New Music (NME NME; Rolling Stone Rolling Stone).

“As for the album, it’s not even remotely done… I’ve announced it… sometimes you need to put a deadline,” RAYE said in a recent interview, underlining the sprint-and-announce energy behind this release. Ray, where is my husband

‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! is a bold, throwback-flavoured pop that still sounds like her, used as a marker for the next phase.
