Sadye is a new name in the alt-pop scene, but she’s already making waves with her debut single Biblical, a dark and seductive song about the pitfalls of blind faith in a toxic relationship. The song showcases Sadye’s captivating vocals, haunting melodies, and edgy production, creating a sonic atmosphere that draws you in and doesn’t let go.

Biblical is inspired by the cyclical and self-destructive nature of returning to toxic relationships, it lays bare the emotional turmoil that accompanies the decision to willingly subject oneself to hurt. Sadye’s candid confession, “I know exactly what I’m doing,” highlights a poignant sense of self-awareness that’s both haunting and relatable.

    Sadye – Biblical (Lyric Video)

The song explores the complex emotions of addiction, self-destruction, and empowerment that come with such a situation, as Sadye sings:

I take the bad / To get the good
From you / I use you and you punish me
Emotionally / Hurt me like it’s biblical
Blind faith I’m back for more
I can’t leave it alone / Heart is bleeding out
Yeah you hurt me like it’s biblical
Wounded I’m back for more / I can’t leave it alone
Hurt me like you do / Like it’s biblical
Don’t go easy on me / Like it’s biblical

Biblical is as captivating as it is cathartic with its raw and vulnerable lyrics.
The song was released on May 4 via vnclm_ and Atlantic Records and has already received placements in ABC/HULU’s Abbott Elementary and Netflix’s Working Moms. Sadye is currently working on her debut EP, which is expected to drop later this year.

Sadye is a diminutive of Sarah, which means “princess” in Hebrew. She grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, where she started writing songs at the age of 12. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career and has since collaborated with producers such as Jon Levine (Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha), Dave Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio), and Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde).

Sadye has built upon her previous experiences, creating a captivating sound that’s unafraid to confront the complexities of human emotion. The track leaves listeners yearning for more, eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Sadye’s musical journey.

As a debut single, Biblical represents a powerful rebirth for Sadye, with a stunning introduction to her artistry and a sign of great things to come. If you’re looking for a new alt-pop obsession, look no further than Sadye.
