Tom The Lion’s new single Amber pulls us into a free-floating and eclectic universe where romance blooms amidst uncertainty.

This East London troubadour crafts a sonic dreamscape that’s equal parts whimsy and introspection.

It is reminiscent of an old-school romantic film, blending nostalgia with a fresh vibrancy.

The track’s heartbeat is its drum loop—a rhythmic anchor that Tom, a drummer since his teen years, wields with finesse.

Around this pulsing core, plucked guitars and a nimble bassline weave an intricate dance.

Tom’s vocals are pronounced and confident, riding over lush instrumentation with the poise of a seasoned performer.

His delivery exudes warmth and assurance as he navigates the melody with ease of a daydreamer, letting his instincts guide him through the emotional landscape of the song.

The chorus brings a surprise guest: Gabrielle Aplin’s voice intertwining with Tom’s in a moment of pure magic.

Her line, “You always sing when you’re driving,” becomes an unexpected earworm, burrowing deep into the listener’s subconscious.

Lyrically, “Amber” is a fever dream of new love and its accompanying anxieties.

Tom paints vivid snapshots: hair flicking around, jumping at airports, the vulnerability of silence.

The repeated refrain of “Come on and bite love / I want it so much” reads like a dare to fully embrace life’s messy, beautiful chaos.

“Amber” is a song where each listener finds their own meaning in its hazy beauty.

It’s the sonic equivalent of a late-night drive with no destination—just you, the open road, and the endless possibility of what lies ahead.

    Tom The Lion Amber Lyrics

I could be a whole lot lighter
I don’t want to waste time thinking bout
I can never see inside her
Only in her heart will she ever know
Put I’m the corner if you want to
Throw me in the air like a somersault
    I don’t want a mind like a floodlight
    I don’t want a room with a locked door
Send me inside like a firefighter
Hug me like a bear with your full force
    You never look frightened
You never look away when it gets tough

    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much
    If it ever finds you
    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much

I can see the tops of the trees now
Shadow from the lights on the ceiling
Feel you hair when it flicks around
Feel it like a smile when I breath in
And now I know there’s a child there
I know I’ve got to fight with the feeling
I watch you get so excited
Jumping in the air at the airport
You always sing when you’re driving
Wishing all the streets were silent
    We keep dancing around it
He’s about the size of a lime now

    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much
    If it ever finds you
    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much

    Maybe I’m afraid of silence
I know it’s a way to hide things
It’s not a lie if you tell it enough
You start really believing in it
    However it divides you
We could chew through the wire soon
    It’s all about survival

    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much
    If it ever finds you
    Come on and bite love
    I want it so much
